A district police officer in Adygeya suspected of extortion of 30 thousand roubles

A district police officer of the Department of the Ministry of Interior Affairs in Maikop and three other unidentified policemen are suspected of extortion of a bribe to a sum of 30 thousand roubles from a local woman, Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation (CIR) in Adygeya reports.

The investigation supposes that on November, 19, the district police officer who was in his office suggested a woman resident of Maikop to give him 30 thousand roubles allegedly for not making her criminally liable.

The girl reported this to Department of Federal Security Service of Russia in Adygea and during an operation experiment she passed the money over to the officer and three of his colleagues.

A criminal case of corrupt-related crime was initiated against the policemen according to part 3, clause 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (swindling by a group of persons by previous concert with the use of official position), web-site of Investigative Department of CIR in Adygea reports.

Major general Alexander Rechitsky, Minister of Interior Affairs in Adygea, ordered to carry out an official inspection. It was decided to discharge Chief of the Department of district police officers for the affairs of the underage of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Russia in Maikop, web-site of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the republic reports. Besides, district police officers of the Department will go through an extraordinary certification procedure.
