The police in Mineralnye Vody suppressed the nationalists' mass action

On November, 29, the police in Mineralnye Vody suppressed people's gathering near the musical college. It was expected to become a response to an assault at one of the students, leader of regional nationalist movement Oksana Borisova, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Borisova is an active participant of the "Slavic Union", organizer of a number of protest actions in the region, such as "Russian marches" and "Russian joggings". According to the girl, she had to appeal to hospital for aid, as a result.

On the same day a mass "viral" mailing under the headlines "Angry Russian young people are coming out in protest" and "Pogroms are beginning in Mineralnye Vody!" started in the blogosphere with a call to take part in a people's gathering in Borisova's support appointed at 12:00, November, 29.

Since morning of November, 29, the building of the musical college in Pushkin street was encircled by the police and soldiers of riot squad, a dog trainer with a dog was patrolling the territory. At about 11:30 young people, including ones who arrived in Kavkazskie Mineralnye Vody from the neighbouring towns, started gathering near Lenin memorial in XXII Party Congress avenue. Then they started in blocks towards the college.

"There were several tens policemen around this college. No sooner had three or four people joined together they immediately converged on the group, checked up documents and inquired about the purpose of our gathering. In fact, we did not conceal what we came for… We could not gather in a group… The teachers were standing on the porch het-up and talking to the police", Stanislav Bogoslovsky, one of the participants of the action and ex-leader of the "Slavic Union of Stavropol region", said to our correspondent.

The police detained several young guys, one of the organizers of the action Dmitry Chernov among them. During inspection of documents it emerged that he was on his own recognizance in the town of Lermontov.

A group of activists guided by Bogoslovsky followed the detainees to the police department located not far from the musical college. They demanded form the police to release Chernov and other detainees. Besides, anonymous calls with similar demands were coming all day long to the telephone of the standby unit. Several hours later all the participants of the unauthorized action were released and the cordon round the college was removed.
