In Sochi, witnesses are questioned in Maevskaya's murder case

In Sochi, the trial on the murder of the war veteran Antonina Maevskaya is interrogating the witnesses; five of them were questioned at the sessions on February 26 and 27.

Antonina Maevskaya disappeared in December 2011; and in February 2012 her body was found. The suspects of murdering her are Vorobyov, 30, his cohabitant Zhigulina, 23, and their friend Volov, 52. In September 2012, the police confiscated from the shop "Collector" some things, which disappeared from the casualty's apartment.

The court listened to Irina Sergeeva, a neighbour of Maevskaya, who said that the suspects had lived for two months in the casualty's apartment, while the district policeman gave no reaction to applications of neighbours that the elderly lady had disappeared and her apartment was occupied by other people.

Stanislav Kuznetsov, the very district policeman, has confirmed that the neighbours and the stepson of Maevskaya had addressed him. "I visited the apartment of Maevskaya for several times. Vorobyov opened the door and told me that Maevskaya had left and asked him to look after the apartment. I had no reasons not to trust Vorobyov."

The policeman Sergey Varvashtyan explained that he received information about the body of the woman in February 2012 from a forester. The forester Maximov told that he was informed about the body by the shovel operator Georgy Daneliya, who was extracting gravel from the river for the local crusher and found the body. Daneliya said that three persons asked him to bury the body.
