On February 28, the capital of Armenia hosted a mourning march and a prayer in memory of the ten persons who perished on March 2008, when the police dispersed a peaceful rally demanding to nullify the election totals.

The march headed by Ovannisyan and other oppositional activists moved silently along the central streets of the city to the monument to Alexander Myasnikyan, where the tragic events took place five years ago. Policemen accompanied the march.

The event that was about 2000 strong ended with laying flowers to the monument in memory of the victims. In process, the column was complemented with passers-by, and finally there were some 4-5 thousand of them. The action passed without incidents.
