Ovannisyan challenges election outcomes at the Armenia CC

Today, representatives of Raffi Ovannisyan, a former presidential candidate and the leader of the oppositional party "Heritage", have lodged a suit to the Constitutional Court (CC) of Armenia against the outcomes of the presidential election.

"We have enough evidence of violations in the course of the election. We've applied to the CC; however, we have no special hopes for satisfaction of our claim. The reason is in lack of trust," said Stepan Safaryan, Secretary General of the party.

As to the fact why the members of the party who took part in the election commissions has still signed the suspicious protocols, Mr Safaryan has noted that there were different reasons for such behaviour: "There are facts of threats, intimidation, attempts of bribing – for example, one of my acquaintances was offered a bribe of 5000 US dollars in exchange of the totals in favour of Serzh Sargsyan; however, he rejected it."
