Operational headquarters of North Ossetia urged people not to panic because of CTO

The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime, announced on March 4, continues in the territory of the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia. The local operational headquarters has urged local residents to remain calm and avoid panic and disorder.

The CTO regime was announced in the villages of Tarskoe, Verkhni and Nizhni Komgaron and adjacent forest up to the border with Ingushetia on March 4 at 6:00 a.m. Moscow time. According to the above headquarters, the actions within the CTO are aimed at preventing possible terror acts.

The CTO regime was last introduced in North Ossetia on September 11, 2012. Then, power agents received information about detection in the wooded area of members of the armed underground involved in terrorist activities.

According to estimates of the "Caucasian Knot", at least 14 persons fell victim of the armed conflict in North Ossetia in 2012; seven of them were killed and seven more wounded. In 2011, the total number of victims was the same; however, then four persons were killed and 10 others injured.
