Gabibulaeva and Akaeva were detained on April, 29, 2012, by officers of Road Patrol Service post. During inspection of their car a home-made bomb of 130 gram trotyl equivalent was confiscated. Trail on Gabibulaeva and Akaeva’s case started on January, 16. They are accused of illegal storage and transporting explosives. The defendants do not acknowledge themselves guilty.

Zalina Gabibulaeva’s mother and Zaira Akaeva’s brother were present at the trial on March, 5, as public defenders.

During interrogation Fatima Tekaeva said that she knew the defendants and that Zalina Gabibulaeva was her son’s Sharia wife but according to the Russian law they were not married.

“On April, 26, I received Gabibulaeva’s appeal to the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria by fax where she asked to register legal marriage with my son Rasul Kudaev and she was just on the way to register the marriage”, witness for the defense Fatima Tekaeva said.

Tsallagov asked Tekaeva to speak about her son but she refused. Tekaeva pointed out that she was not looking for a bride for his son. “I was just confronted with the accomplished fact. Only on the day of Gabibulaeva’s arrival I got the news that she was coming”, Tekaeva said.

Neither Zalina Gabibulaeva’s mother nor Zaira Akaeva’s brother asked Fatima Tekaeva any questions during interrogation.
