Audit Chamber reveals overrating of Sochi Olympic objects by 15.5 billion roubles
According to the report of the Russia's Audit Chamber, presented today by its head Sergey Stepashin to the Council of Federation, the estimated cost of the objects for the Winter Olympiad in Sochi was unreasonably exceeded by 15.5 billion roubles.
According to the Audit Chamber, the cost of a number of Olympic objects, including the sledge-bobsleigh track and the Great Ice Arena, had been unreliably defined.
The grounds for the unreasonable increase of the estimated cost had been created by the officials of the "Olympstroy" Company, whereas there was no need of additional investments, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to the above report.
The Audit Chamber has recommended fixing – by the resolution of the government – new indicators for the audited sporting objects, which would comply with the data of state examination, the ITAR-TASS reports.
