Lack of information about the fate of detained Novosasitli villagers gave rise to tense situation in the village, locals say

Residents of the village of Novosasitli, Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, have no information on the fate of four of their fellow villagers, detained by power agents on March 7. The situation in the village is strained, as the head of the village told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to Akhmed Khaibulaev, a deputy of the village council, law enforcers took away the merchant Rasul Maazov, 26, the builder Asadula Asadulaev, 40, the businessman Magomed Ziyavdinov, 26, the businessman Magomed Sharapudinov, 27, and the builders Izudinov brothers – Khairulbashar, 40, and Shamsulvar, 38.

One of them – Shamsulvar Izudinov, who was detained on March 7 and released on the same day, said that Magomed Sharapudinov was released together with him, while he did not know the whereabouts of the other detainees.

He told about the circumstances of his own detention, and the detention of his brother; and he did not believe in any affiliation of his brother with the armed underground. He told that Magomed Sharapudinov was detained because he refused to sign the protocol of the search conducted in the house of Rasul Maazov.

"I wasn't there, but there are witnesses who saw planting of firearms on Rasul; therefore Magomed refused to sign the protocol of the search as a witness. He too was taken to the police station, but later released," said Shamsulvar Izudinov.
