The final results of special parliamentary election promulgated in Armenia

Today CEC of Armenia promulgated the results of special parliamentary election held on December, 2, in Armenia according to which upon the totals of voting representatives of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia Robert Sarkisyan and Arman Saakyan won the election.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” reported that voting at a special parliamentary election was held in Armenia on December, 2. The election was based on majority electoral system in two electoral districts: No 1 in Yerevan and No 30 in Shirak district.

All in all 41 251 electors took part in the voting, a representative of Press Center of CEC reported.

The number of electors on the main voting lists in electoral district No 1 made 64 758. On the day of voting an additional list for five electors was formed. Thereby, total number of electors in the district made 64 763, 23 830 of them voted.

Upon the results of voting, the candidate from the ruling part of Armenia Sarkisyan polled 18 805 votes, member of “Nasledie” (“Heritage”) fraction Stepan Sapharyan polled 3680 votes and representative of the National Party of Armenia Edward Petrosyan polled 461 votes.

In the electoral district No 35, 17 421 electors out of total number (55 971) took part in the election. Upon the totals of calculation 17 408 ballot papers were found in the ballot box.

13 337 electors voted for representative of the ruling party Arman Saakyan and 3237 supported Murad Grigoryan. 834 ballot papers turned out invalid.
