Law enforces confiscate documents of NPOs in Krasnodar Territory, activists complain

According to different sources, in the cities of Krasnodar and Novorossiysk, a number of premises of some non-profit organizations (NPOs) have been searched; and computers, documents and personal belongings were confiscated.

"I want to stress that our organization, like others, is suspected of nothing. So far, they've just confiscated the documents relating to the grant received last year from the administration of the Krasnodar Territory in support of socially oriented NPOs," the head of one of the NPOs, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The source said that he knows for sure about searches conducted in "at least five organizations, but probably there are more of them." The list of major ones includes the Southern Regional Resource Centre, the Foundation "Philanthropist" from Novorossiysk and the non-state educational centre in Krasnodar.

According to his story, "some of the power agents behaved excessively and unnecessarily harsh – they confiscated activists' personal belongings."
