A resident of Dagestan reports unknown persons’ attempt to burn down her family

On December, 8, unidentified masked and camouflaged people in the settlement of Chontaul, Kizilyurt district of Dagestan, attempted to burn down Salimat Gadjieva’s family consisting of seven persons. This was reported by the woman herself.

“I, my daughter-in-law, my son-in-law and four little granddaughters were at home. Mariam, my eldest granddaughter, is 8, and the youngest, Fatima, is 2. At midnight, all of sudden, five armed and camouflaged men burst into the house breaking through the door and window”, Salimat Gadjieva said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

“They poured some stinking biting liquid that smelled of solar oil upon us. The children’s cries became louder and that made the armed men leave the house as quick as possible but before they left they said that next time they would surely burn all of us down”, Gadjieva says.

The woman does not rule out involvement of the personnel of Kizilyurt district Department of Interior Affairs in the incident because according to her, local policemen “were following” her grandsons Askhab and Shahrudin Askhabov who disappeared.

Officials of Kizilyurt district Department of Interior Affairs said that they knew nothing of the incident.
