Izberbash residents complain of complete gas outage

Residents of the Dagestani city of Izberbash reported that as a result of damaging the pipeline during excavation by builders, the gas supply was switched off.

The gas supply was stopped at about midday, said Mariana Magomedova, a city resident.

"We live in the outskirts of Izberbash; and, to my knowledge, half the city suffered from the gas outage. Our house is still disconnected; today is Friday; and there's a threat that we'll be unable to cook through the weekend. Besides, I have a geyser at home to warm up water," Magomedova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Another woman from Izberbash named Napisat, who lives in the 2nd Magistralnaya Street, also said that she and her neighbours have gas in their homes. "I have small children and an elderly mother in law. Gas was cut off when I was going to cook. Now, they have indefinitely put everyone on bread and water," she said.

Meanwhile, the regional Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) asserts that all the problems with the gas supply in Izberbash had been solved at 5:00 p.m.
