Tskhinvali Mayoralty to pay electricity debts of "Solnechny" residents

As decided by the government of South Ossetia, the electricity debts of the inhabitants of the township "Solnechny" in Tskhinvali will be imposed on the Mayoralty of the country's capital, as Vadim Gabaraev, the Acting Mayor of Tskhinvali told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"The government will transfer the whole sum of the debts to us; and, upon the instruction of the president we must repay the debts within a month," said Gabaraev, adding that "The government has promised to pay for the electricity consumed by residents before March 1, 2013."

He also stressed that for the dwelling settlements without natural gas supplies, which have only electricity, the government will develop new tariffs.

It should be noted here that villages of South Ossetia have no gas supply; the rural population uses domestic wood stoves and electric heaters.
