Residents of Dakhadayevsky District of Dagestan seek to change district authorities
On March 17, in Makhachkala, residents of the Dakhadayevsky District of Dagestan held a rally stating falsification at the election of the head of the district and demanded a new early election.
"We demand to terminate before term the powers of the head of the municipal formation 'Dakhadayevsky District' Djarula Omarov," said the organizer of the rally Bagavutdin Magomedov, stating that in 2011 serious violations were fixed during the election of the head of the Dakhadayevsky District.
According to the protesters, the voter turnout was only 10%; and the official data about over 98% were fraudulent.
The protesters expressed their support for the acting president of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov and his policy and expressed hope that the situation in the country would change for the better.
The resolution of the rally asks Ramazan Abdulatipov to terminate the powers of Djarula Omarov and hold the general election of the district head.
So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of Djarula Omarov or republic's authorities on the allegations and claims of the protesters.
