In Armenia, court dismissed complaint against arrest of Vardan Sedrakyan
Today, the Court of Appeal has dismissed the petition of the defence of the former presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakyan, who was arrested for two months, asking to change his freedom restriction measure, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The scientist and epos researcher Vardan Sedrakyan is accused of organizing an attempt on Paruir Airikyan, another participant of the presidential race and the chairman of the association "National Self-Determination". The investigation into his case is under the National Security Service of Armenia. On March 5, under the court ruling Sedrakyan was remanded in custody for two months.
Before the session, Alexander Sirunyan, Sedrakyan's advocate, said that he was confident that his petition would be rejected. According to his story, the defence of the former candidate prepares materials for addressing regarding his arrest to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), the "Aysor.am" reports.
