Dagestan: investigators suspect policeman of attacking a lawyer
In Dagestan, a policeman from Buinaksk is suspected of hitting the lawyer Khadizhat Magomedova.
The incident occurred in the police of Buinaksk on March 6. According to Ms Magomedova, on that day late in the evening, she and her client Ruslan G. came to the investigator, who summoned them to investigatory actions.
"Ruslan figures in a theft case; and I represent his interests free of charge as appointed by the state. After the investigatory actions, we came down from the third floor; and when we passed the study of the deputy chief of police, he called Ruslan by name and invited him to come in. I told that I'd follow him and leave them alone. Saying 'Who are you?' he quickly came up to me, hit my left forearm with his fist, cursed and left. Immediately I began calling the prosecutor's office and the Investigatory Committee," said Khadizhat Magomedova.
Khadizhat Magomedova was recognized to be a victim; and a case has been opened against the police officer. He faces 3 to 10 years in prison.
