Acting City Manager of Volgograd fined for bad roads

By results of the prosecutor's inspection, Vladimir Sobakar, the acting head of the administration of Volgograd, was fined by the State Road Inspectorate by 2000 roubles for the unsatisfactory state of road paving in the city.

The prosecutor's office has established that more than 90 public roads in Volgograd are outside state standards. They are covered with potholes, bumps, and road manholes are above or below the required level.

It is not known so far, whether the acting city manager will to appeal against the administrative punishment, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Besides, the district prosecutors of Volgograd have sued the city administration demanding to bring streets and roads of the city up to the appropriate standards, the website of the prosecutor's office reports.
