Bus with election observers of Anapa Mayor stopped in Taganrog

Inspectors of the Taganrog GIBDD (traffic police) have detained a bus with 42 residents of the Rostov Region, who were on the way to Anapa as observers at the election of the mayor of the city, as Alexei Tsivenko, the coordinator of the project "Citizen Observer" told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"They remove the number plates from the bus that was to take observers from Taganrog to Anapa. At the exit from the garage, GIBDD inspectors stopped the bus owner and removed the number plates: allegedly, the bus was out of order; although all the documents on the vehicle were correct; and yesterday the bus passed technical inspection," he said.

In December 2012, the then Mayor of Anapa Tatiana Evsikova resigned for health reasons. Currently, Sergey Sergeyev is the acting city manager. The election is scheduled for March 24 with 10 candidates running for the post.
