Volgograd Regional Duma deputies sue city administration because of bad roads

On March 21, the deputies of the Volgograd Regional Duma Natalia Latyshevskaya and Sergey Popov turned on in the Central District Court of Volgograd with a claim against the department of urban maintenance of the city administration on their obligations of road repair and maintenance of pavements.

"We filed the lawsuit as residents of Volgograd," Sergey Popov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "We drive on ruined roads and walk along dirty streets."

According to his story, the claimants deliberately did not go to court as MPs, in order not to exert pressure on the court.

They stress that "the current state of roads in Volgograd poses a real threat of injury."

The MPs want to oblige the administration of Volgograd, within two months after the court ruling, to bring the road paving of the Voroshilov and Tsentralny Districts in compliance with the statutory requirements, repair a number of yard territories, roads and an overpass.

According to the above department of urban maintenance, the maintenance works are executed according to the requirements.
