Man disappears during hurricane in Adzharia
On March 25, the pensioner David Geladze was washed away by a storm wave in the village of Kvariati, Adzharia; his fate is unknown, and he is being searched.
The hurricane has almost completely destroyed the coastal area of Batumi, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Supreme Council of Adzharia.
On March 25, David Geladze, a resident of the village of Sarpy, went fishing with his two friends, when a storm burst out. His two friends managed to escape, but he was struck by a wave. David Geladze is the only victims of the hurricane.
The storm caused enormous damage to the coastal area of Batumi: the waves broke the pavement on the Primorsky Boulevard, threw lamp posts down and destroyed trees. Restaurants and cafes have also suffered.
