Relatives of Dagestani resident ask for help in finding him

Rashidbek Shamsudinov, a resident of the suburb of Khasavyurt named Olympijsky, disappeared at night on March 26. His relatives fear that he had been kidnapped, Rashidbek's father-in-law Alibulat Khakimov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"In the morning I was called by my daughter, who said that her husband did not return home, and that his phone was not answered. She said that in the evening Rashidbek was visiting his friend, but he did not get back home, although his friend lives just 10-minute drive away. We began phoning friends; no success so far," said Khakimov.

According to his story, surveillance cameras recorded the car of his son-in-law drove up and stopped at the next street; then, some unknown people got out of it and ran away. Khakimov does not exclude that his son-in-law can be kept at the Khasavyurt GOVD (City Interior Division).

"Earlier, Rashidbek had worked with the police; later, he left the service and went in for business. I don't know why, but after any incident in the city the son-in-law was invited to the police; he was registered there as a follower of Salafism. Rashidbek's home was often searched, although nothing criminal in his actions and nothing illegal at home had ever been found," said Khakimov.

The GOVD of Khasavyurt told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Shamsudinov was not among the persons detained and kept there.
