Georgia returns over thousand sacked militaries back to state service

According to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Georgia, more than a thousand servicemen, illegally dismissed from the Ministry, have been reinstated.

From February 22, 2013, specially created qualifying bodies are considering complaints of such dismissed servicemen.

According to Tamar Karosanidze, the deputy head of the MoD, the commissions are considering the claims and complaints of those who disagree with the dismissal, and then decide on the lawfulness of their reinstatement in their earlier positions.

Prior to setting up the qualification commissions, Georgia operated a working group that examined the complaints of the dismissed employees of the MoD. From October 25, 2012, the working group received more than 4000 applications for reinstatement at the MoD, the website of the Ministry has reported today.

The above commissions are considering the applications of the officers "illegally dismissed from the MoD by the Mikhail Saakashvili's regime," the "Interfax" is citing Ms Karosanidze.
