Power agents of South Ossetia hand five border trespassers over to Georgian authorities

During three days, on March 27-29, law enforcement officials of South Ossetia delivered to the Georgian party five persons detained on suspicion of illegally crossing the border.

Ushangi Dotiashvili, a 18-year-old Georgian citizen, and two other citizens of Georgia – Ira Khubaeva and Anna Gigolaeva – were released on March 29. Amiran Djeiranashvili and Levan Shubitidze, villagers of Chvrinisi, the Kareli District, were handed over to Georgian security forces on March 27.

Ushangi Dotiashvili was detained by Russian border guards on March 26, when he went into his orchard, located in the village of Kirbali, the official website of the MIA of Georgia reports. As stated by Ushangi himself, he was detained 100 meters away from his home; at first, he was taken to the village of Dromi, and then to the city of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).

Members of law enforcement agencies of South Ossetia primarily asked about the political situation in Georgia, said Dotiashvili. "I was treated normally; there was no physical," the "Georgia Online" quotes the young man.

"The MIA will continue negotiating the release of the remaining detainees," said Georgi Dvalishvili, the head of the Chief Regional Department Shida Kartli, who is quoted by the "News-Georgia".
