The demands of the workers of oil enterprise Bos Shelf in Azerbaijan granted in part

The demands of the workers of oil enterprise Bos Shelf producing oil drilling platforms in Azerbaijan who on March, 18, went on a strike demanding higher wages, benefit packages and solution of a number of other problems were granted in part.

In particular, the demand of providing the workers with health insurance, increasing the term of vacations were solved and the quality of their meals was improved. Today the enterprise continued work in an ordinary regime.

The workers’ demands were granted in part, Mirvari Gahramanly, Head of the Committee for protection of oil industry workers’ rights, reported. However, she was positive about “constructive approach of the management of the plant to solution of the existing problems”.

The new Head of Committee of Trade Unions of the enterprise Allahyar Aiubov reported establishing a constructive dialogue between the employees and the administration of the plant.

According to him, the problem of health insurance was solved, the difference among official rates of pay for doing one and the same job was eliminated and the quality of free meals was improved.
