Seven wounded by two explosions in Ingushetia

Seven servicemen were wounded by two explosions triggered in the Sunzha District of Ingushetia; some of them will be sent by a special flight to Moscow for treatment.

The first mine explosion occurred today at about midday Moscow time in the woods near the village of Alkun. Three soldiers who conducted an operation to search for militants received various gravity wounds and were hospitalized. An explosion of the second mine in a forest of the Sunzha District wounded four employees of law enforcement bodies from a task force that arrived at the place of the first explosion. One of those wounded, Rashid Ganizhev a deputy commander of the OMON (riot police) died in hospital.

A doctor from the Sunzha District Hospital told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on the condition of anonymity that Rashid Ganizhev lost his right leg in the mine explosion, and his left one was completely smashed.

"Ganizhev was taken by helicopter to the military hospital in Khankala, where doctors did their best, but the victim had a massive blood loss; and they could not save him. He died about three and a half hours after the explosion," said the source.

Akhmed Borzov and Aslan Burtuzanov, the OMON fighters, wounded by the second mine explosion in the forest of the Sunzha District of Ingushetia, will be brought by a special flight to Moscow.
