Case on tourist's death in "zorb" in Karachay-Cherkessia gets to court
Today, the Deputy Public Prosecutor of Karachay-Cherkessia has approved an indictment against Ravil Chekunov on the case of organizing in Dombai the entertainment named "zorb", where a tourist perished.
According to the investigation, Chekunov bought his "zorb" in September 2010 in Anapa. On January 3, he suggested Denis Burakov and Vladimir Scherbov, tourists from Pyatigorsk, to ride in the "zorb" along the slope of the ridge Mussa-Achitara for 300 roubles from each. They agreed and got inside the big rubber ball. Then, on an uneven slope the "zorb" changed its trajectory and fell down into the abyss of the Gonachkhir Gorge, the Prosecutor's Office of Karachay-Cherkessia reports.
So far, no comments have arrived from Chekunov or his representatives. Earlier, law enforcement bodies reported that he had admitted his guilt.
One more suspect is figuring in the case; he was released under recognizance not to leave and denies his guilt.
