Armenia: two brothers are suspected of killing Proshyan village headman
Brothers Artak and Araik Petrosyan are suspects in the murder case of Grach Muradyan, the head of the administration of the village of Proshyan, Kotayk Region of Armenia. They were arrested.
According to the press service of the police, the suspects Artak and Araik Petrosyan, born in 1980 and 1982, are Muradyan's fellow villagers. The police voice nothing about the motives of the murder.
So far, the "Caucasian Knot" possesses no comments of the suspects or their advocates regarding the police's suspicion of their involvement in the murder.
The assassinated head of the village administration of Proshyan was a veteran of the Karabakh War and a member of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" Party; the party activists are sure that Muradyan's murder was premeditated and pre-planned. "Regardless of the performers, the killing was a result of the atmosphere of impunity and intolerance," says the statement of the supreme body of the ARF.
