Doctor of maternity hospital in Vladikavkaz detained at attemp to sell a baby, OBEP agent reports

On April 6, a doctor of the maternity hospital in Vladikavkaz was detained when trying to sell a baby, said Yaroslav Gudkov, the head of the Department for Economic Security (known as OBEP) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of North Ossetia.

According to Gudkov, the OBEP received information that the doctor was selling babies. Operative agents turned to her under the guise of potential buyers.

Some time later, the doctor offered them a child of a minor mother, who had refused from her baby. Initially, the doctor asked for 1.5 million roubles from the potential customers. The price then was dropped down to 1 million roubles.

The doctor was detained at the moment of receiving of a half of the agreed amount, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The child's future will be decided by guardianship bodies, the RAPSI reports.
