Dolidze: I was interrogated concerning the oppositional action in May of 2011 in Tbilisi

On December, 31, 2012, Bacho Dolidze, Press Speaker of Mayor’s office of Tbilisi, was summoned for interrogation to Isani-Samgor district police department. He was interrogated about the oppositional action in May of 2011 in Tbilisi and the offers made to the participants of the meeting by Bacho Akhalaya, Minister of Interior Affairs of that time.

On May, 25, 2011, a meeting of the “People’s Assembly” with the demand of President Mikhail Saakashvili’s resignation was held in Tbilisi. At midnight of May, 26, the term of the action specified by notification expired, however the participants continued their action of protest and were dispersed by riot squad. Water cannons, gas and rubber bullets were used during dispersal.

According to Dolidze, interrogation lasted about an hour. “The investigators were interested in the episode when Bacho Akhalaya himself came to the action and offered an alternative territory to continue the meeting. They inquired when the notification of the action was submitted to Mayor’s office, when the term of the manifestation expired and asked about other details”, “Georgia online” quotes Dolidze.

Press Speaker of Mayor’s office of Tbilisi did not rule out that he might be summoned for interrogation once again, Trend reports.
