15 persons submitted applications for participation in the election of President of Armenia

Ruben Aivazyan, representative of “Prosperous Armenia” party, submitted his documents to CEC for nomination as candidate for presidency, officials of CEC told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent. He is already the 15th contender to the presidency of Armenia.

The term to accept applications will end on January, 4. From January, 4, till January, 14, CEC will register the candidates for presidency.

Earlier, the following persons submitted documents for registration: Coordinator of socialist party the “Gist of the Time” Robert Agaronyan, incumbent President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, leader of Association “National Self-determination” Paruir Airikyan, expert in epos Vardan Serdakyan, physicist Mger Airapetyan, political scientist Andreas Gukasyan, Chairman of “National Accord” party Aram Arutiunyan, nonpartisan Pavlik Sarkisyan, Chairperson of National Press Club Narine Mkrtchyan, ex-Head of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh Arman Melikyan, ex-Prime Minister of Armenia, Chairman of “Azatutiun” party Grant Bagratyan, Chairman of National Federation of combat karate of Armenia Taron Abramyan, Chairman of “Kashatag” non-governmental organization Robert Simonyan and Chairman of “Nasledie” (“Heritage”) party Raffi Ovannisyan.

Election of President of Armenia is appointed on February, 18. The nomination procedure started on December, 25, 2012.
