Over 50 thousand residents of Sochi stayed without electricity on the New Year's night

At night of January, 1, power was cut off in a number of districts of Sochi. Operations control center called technological disturbances the reason why over 50 thousand people were left without power on the New Year's night.

“They did not even let us see the New Year in humanly, resident of Plastunskaya street Nina Kurilo said. – Power was cut off without any warning two hours before the New Year. Then they gave us light for an hour and cut it off again. On January, 1, we celebrated the holiday without electricity and heating”.

“Cutoffs in our residential neighbourhood have been regular since 2007, Chairman of territorial self-government community Gennady Bedrakov says. – But leaving people without power on a holiday is the top of disrespect of the consumers’ rights”.

According to resident of Vishnevskaya street Alexander Semin, he saw the New Year in with candles. “It is impossible to find out the cause of regular cutoffs. The answer is always the same: “Technological disturbances. Wait”. But what else shall be wait for?”, he asked.

Officials of “Kubanelectroset” public corporation explained that there were technological failures on the line.
