ISAF: a Georgian soldier killed in the gunmen’s prison in Afghanistan

Headquarters of International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF) reported the details of death of Georgian serviceman Georgy Kikadze who disappeared and was later found dead.

The Ministry of Defense of Georgia declared that on December, 19, a Georgian serviceman in Afghanistan disappeared under vague circumstances. An operation of the peacemaker’s search was undertaken by ISAF and a coordination center organized by the Ministry of Defense of Georgia. On December, 29, it became known that sergeant Georgy Kikadze was found dead.

Sergeant Kikadze disappeared in the province of Gilmend, Afghanistan. His dead body was found by officers of Afghan police, “Georgia Online” reports according to a press release issued by ISAF.

The sergeant was killed from fire-arms, Civil.ge referring to Associated Press reports.

As of today, Georgia lost 19 servicemen in Afghanistan after the country joined ISAF operation in 2009.
