Georgia hosts protest against Islamization of Adzharia

In Tbilisi, about 50 people came to hold their protest at the Turkish Embassy with the slogan "Stop Islamization of Adzharia!"

The action participants also held posters reading: "We condemn the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey!" and "We have no spare territories!"

According to the protesters-participants of the action, held on April 8, Turkey "is seriously thinking to annex Adzharia without any war and attack", the "Interfax" reports.

The activists demanded explanations on the statement of the Turkish Foreign Minister Akhmad Davutoglu, which, in their opinion, "has signs of imperial ambitions."

Mr Davutoglu's statement on the need to restore the "new relationships" was made during his visit to Cyprus in late March. "The last century was the page that we've flipped over. Now we'll set up new ties of Sarajevo with Damascus, and of Benghazi with Batumi," the "Georgia Today" quotes Davutoglu as saying. "And we'll do it peacefully."
