Court of Appeal upholds jury disband in Budanov murder case
Today, the Moscow City Court (MCC) has rejected an appeal lodged by the defence of the suspects in the murder case of former Colonel Yuri Budanov against the dismissal of the jury.
The trial with participation of a jury began at the MCC on December 3, 2012. However, on February 13, Judge Andrei Korotkov granted the request of the prosecution and dismissed the jury. Before that, the judge announced that two jurymen had dropped from the jury; 11 persons remaining. The defence promised to appeal against the decision.
Today, at a session of the Appeals Chamber for Criminal Cases of the MCC decided to uphold the decision of Judge Andrei Korotkov, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
