Work of modern Circassian authors shown at exhibition "Shades of Circassian" in Moscow

The exhibition named "Shades of Circassian" was opened in Moscow representing paintings, drawings, photographs and crafts of Circassian authors. The exhibition was organized to give the Moscow public an opportunity to see the Circassian contemporary arts, said the organizers.

The "Shades of Circassian" is a joint project of artists Dina Khashkhozheva and Maria Mussova. The exhibition was opened on April 10 and will last until April 20.

The idea of the exhibition appeared while working on a photo project of Maria Mussova "Twelve Shades of Circassian," Dina Khashkhozheva, one of the curators of the exhibition, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Beautiful girls in traditional costumes are filmed frequently; we wanted to do something modern, but also preserve something Circassian in it. We decided to do it by decorating with ornaments. Girls are in traditional dresses today, but with different vintage accessories – a knife, a bowl or a bib. After this photo project we decided to invite other painters to give the Moscow public a chance to learn more about the contemporary Circassian arts," explained Dina Khashkhozheva.
