Suspects of killing Antonina Mayevskaya in Sochi sentenced to long prison terms

The Krasnodar Territorial Court has announced a verdict for the murder in Sochi of the war veteran Antonina Mayevskaya and stealing her military decorations and property. All the three defendants were found guilty of the murder and sentenced to long – from 10 to 17 years – terms of imprisonment.

As reported by the office of the Krasnodar Territorial Court, the sentence was announced on April 5.

Vitaly Vorobyov was sentenced to imprisonment for the term of 17 years, and 2.5 years of supervision after serving his term. Yulia Zhigulina received a sentence of 15 years of general colony and two years of subsequent supervision.

"The convicts have time until April 15 to file an appeal against the verdict," a source from the court office told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

So far, no comments have been made by defendants and their advocates on the sentence.
