Astrakhan Region: member of the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers hospitalized after attack

Anatoly Salin, an employee of the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers of the Astrakhan Region, is in hospital after he was attacked by an unidentified person with a knife. A check is underway on the fact of the attack, said the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Astrakhan Region.

According to Salin, he was attacked at about 6:00 p.m. on April 11. "I drove in my to the house; and when I came up to the garage, a man jumped on me from the back; a knife was in his hand. I managed to escape the knife; then, blows to my head followed – first one, then two more," said the human rights activist.

According to his story, a passing-by neighbour saved him from stabbing, the "Interfax" reports.

The human rights activist is in the Kirov Regional Clinical Hospital, the "Kaspiy.Info" reports.
