Armenia: questioning of defendants is over at trial on fight at "Harsnaqar" Restaurant

Today, the defendants Arman Bagdasaryan and Norair Airapetyan, accused of beating military doctors in the parking lot of the Yerevan "Harsnaqar" Restaurant, presented their evidence to the court; therefore, the interrogation of the defendants was over.

Norair Airapetyan said that the victims were drunk and behaved very aggressively. He said he was outraged by the fact that the waiter David Adamyan slapped Vage Avetyan on the face.

"I didn't now what had triggered the scuffle, but I tried to calm everyone down and advised Vage Avetyan and David Adamyan not to figure out their relations in the presence of visitors. I also assured Avetyan and his colleagues that the waiter would be punished if guilty," he said.

According to his story, the clash between the customers and the securities of the restaurant lasted for only 30-40 seconds. "When the victims say that they had been beaten for 15 minutes– they just tell some movie," said Airapetyan.

The other defendant Arman Bagdasaryan has also confirmed that the affected doctors had behaved aggressively in the restaurant. As he said, he did not take part in the fight; and the victims saw him only after the incident.
