Solo picketers in Astrakhan stand against trial of Navalny

Today, Astrakhan hosted a series of solo pickets demanding to stop the prosecution of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Let us remind you that a similar event took place on April 15. The today's pickets were held at the background of the first hearing of Navalny's in Kirov. The opposition leader and blogger, known for his fight against corruption, including in Northern Caucasus, is accused of organizing a large-scale embezzlement of the property of the state enterprise "Kirovles".

The pickets began from 10 in the morning in several parts of the city, in particular, near the tower in Kommunisticheskaya Street, at the Regional Court and the Governor's Residence. Also, a picket was held near the Museum of Military Glory, located next to the mini-park, where a spontaneous rally on April 14, 2012, launched a mass protest action during the hunger strike of Astrakhan activists.

The pickets were again organized by activists of the party "People's Alliance", civil society activists and the Movement "Civil Federation" under the same slogan: "Case against Navalny is case against us!"

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that townspeople were coming up to the picketers. Some of them were interested to know about the course of Navalny's trial and expressed support; others asked the protesters who Navalny is.
