Prosecutor's Office reveals violations of custody conditions in Armavir SIZO
Leonid Korzhinek, Prosecutor of the Krasnodar Territory, has inspected the conditions of detention of persons suspected of committing crimes in the SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 2 in the city of Armavir. The inspection has revealed material and living, health care and other discrepancies with the legislation that infringe upon the rights of persons in custody. This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office.
In particular, according to the information of the Prosecutor's Office, the SIZO does not comply with the requirement about the norm of living space stipulated by the Article 23 of the Federal Law "On detention of persons suspected or accused of committing a crime".
Besides, the inspection has also revealed some facts of SIZO's failure to provide inmates with individual berths. The website of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation also reports on revealed violations with regard to inter-cell insulation, storage of prohibited items, and manufacture of alcohol-containing liquids.
A reprimand was made to the address of the head of the Department of the Russian Federal Correction Service (UFSIN) in the Krasnodar Territory, the IA "Live Kuban" reports with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor's Office.
