Newspaper "Puts Kadyrova" (Kadyrov's Way) closed after journalist's question to Putin

The Chechen newspaper "Kadyrov's Way", which was closed today after the press conference of Russian President Vladimir Putin, was initially presented by local officials at a celebration ceremony of the 60th birthday of the late Akhmad Kadyrov, the former head of the region, in August 2011.

The administration of the Itum-Kale District, which had founded the paper, has closed it a few hours after the correspondent of the newspaper Bilkhis Dudaeva asked a question to President Vladimir Putin at a press conference; the questioned angered the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov.

"The attention of the world community had been focused on Chechnya and Chechen problems. However now, thankfully, Chechnya has become a zone of peace, prosperity, and economic and socio-economic development. Generally, now Chechnya lives well and calmly. However, the epicentre of negative developments has moved to the Chechnya's neighbouring republics. Where do you see, Vladimir Vladimirovich, the root of the problems; and what should be done to stabilize the situation?" the official website of the Kremlin quotes the question of the journalist.

Mr Putin's answer was complimentary for the Chechen leadership. However, Ramzan Kadyrov found the journalist's question as "provocative" and not directly related to Chechnya, "especially to the Itum-Kale District," says the official website of the head and the government of Chechnya.
