Shkhalakhov: in 2012, 452 immigrants arrived in Adygea from Syria

In 2012, in total, 98 families – or 452 persons – came from Syria to Adygea; 346 of them remained in the republic; the remaining immigrants went to other North-Caucasian regions; some have returned to Syria, Asker Shkhalakhov, the chairman of the of the Committee of the Republic of Adygea for Nationalities, Relations with Compatriots and Media, said today.

The data has been presented by Asker Shkhalakhov today in Maikop at the sitting of the commission to support the immigrants who arrived in Adygea from Syria, which was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister's of Adygea Murat Kumpilov.

"The immigrants include Circassians, Russians, Abkhazians, Ossetians, Chechens and Dagestanis," said Shkhalakhov. "184 fellow countrymen were granted temporary registration at the Centre for Adaptation of Immigrants of the Republic of Adygea. They were also helped in obtaining temporary residence and permits on employment."
