ANC decides not to support any candidate at election of President of Armenia

The opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) decided not to support any candidate involved in running for the presidency. This was reported by the statement of the ANC which was disseminated today.

The today's statement of the ANC emphasizes that "the regime of Serzh Sargsyan", under which "the election of 2008 was falsified" and a wave of people's protest was suppressed, "during five years, consecutively destroyed any opportunity for holding democratic and competitive elections."

According to the statement, the main instrument of falsification was "bloated voter lists".

"Given the current situation, the ANC considers it senseless to participate in the election, which has become a farce, and to support any of the candidates, since in the current situation, that will contribute to legitimizing the illegal regime," the ANC emphasizes.
