In Adygea, MSTU teachers and students protest against Rector's dismissal

The protest action against the dismissal of Khazret Blyagoz, Rector of the Maikop State Technological University (MSTU), was attended by 300 teachers and 100 students. The protest action was held today at the building of the MSTU.

The MSTU was created 19 years ago. It enlists more than 12,000 students and about 1000 teachers and staff members. Khazret Blyagoz became the Rector of the MSTU in 2007. In 2012, he was re-elected to the position of the Rector of the MSTU by majority of the academic council of the university.

On December 26, in accordance with the decree of the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Khazret Blyagoz was dismissed. The teachers of the university spoke against the decision.

It was planned that the protest action will involve only teachers. This was reported by Aliy Kudaev, Chief of the Department for Public Relations of the MSTU.

"However, students also came, although they were not invited to participate at the protest action. We ask to restore Khazret Blyagoz in the position of the Rector of the MSTU," Aliy Kudaev said.
