Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan runs for presidency

On December 27, Serzh Sargsyan, current President of Armenia, filed an application to participate in the presidential election. This was reported by the press service of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic.

Serzh Sargsyan is nominated by the ruling Republican Party.

Apart from the current President, the CEC received nominations from three other candidates: Paruir Airikyan, Chairman of the "National Self-Determination" Party, and nonpartisans Vartan Setrakyan and Mher Airapetyan.

The election of the President of Armenia will be held on February 18.
