Authorities of Kashatakh District of Karabakh promise to give housing to all refugees from Syria by February

In 2012, 30 Armenian families from Syria arrived in the Kashatakh District of Nagorno-Karabakh. Those who need housing will be provided with their own apartments in February, the district administration has promised.

Two other families of Syrian Armenians are pondering about their resettlement to the district, said Ruben Matevosyan, the head of the division for immigrants' matters of the administration of the Kashatakh District: "By February, all Syrian Armenians will have their own homes."

The able-bodied settlers have been employed.

"A group 'Shoulder to Shoulder' was set up in Stepanakert in the social network 'Facebook', which has raised 800,000 drams and collected gifts for children; the members of the group brought the money and gifts to the Kashatakh District and themselves spread them among the families of Syrian Armenians," said Matevosyan.

The fundraising, organized by the group "Shoulder to Shoulder" on the "Facebook", was complemented by residents of Nagorno-Karabakh and Russia.
