Signatures against ban on wearing hijabs in schools are collected on the Internet

The website of electronic referenda "Democrator" began collecting signatures to the demand to allow girls from Muslim families to wear hijabs in schools.

Alfiya Karimova, an ethnic Tatar, a resident of Saratov and mother of three schoolgirls, refers in her appeal to the ban imposed by the Government of the Stavropol Territory on wearing of religious clothes in schools.

"Do you understand the ambiguity of the situation? They find it possible to teach religion in school, but prohibit following it – where's the logic here? Adults create a problem themselves! Instead of introducing the culture of each other and teaching children to perceive others who are not like them, children are just friendly confronted head to head!" Alfiya Karimova writes.

At present, her appeal has more than 1322 supporters; and 1389 persons are against it.
