Teenagers attack journalist in Sochi

On Monday night, an attack was committed on Irina Lukyashko, a reporter of the Internet-based medium "Yuga.ru". Two teenage girls beat the journalist and took away her bag, purse and cell phone, Irina Lukyashko herself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The incident occurred at about 9:00 p.m. Moscow time in the Zavokzalny neighbourhood, near a kindergarten in front of the apartment building at No. 4 Trunov Street. According to the journalist, she was passing by a group of teenagers aged 12-15, when two girls rushed and attacked her. She began screaming; and one of the girls was threatened her and forced her to shut up. Then, according to Lukyashko, they began beating her: they tossed her face against the pavement and kicked her; then, they snatching her bag and ran away.

"No one came up to help, although there were people around. I got home, called an ambulance and the police. I was given first aid and advised to go to the trauma centre and forensic examination," said Irina Lukyashko.

In the yards of the houses of the neighbourhood, teenagers gather every night; they behave very noisy and give no reaction to adults' remarks, said a resident of the neighbourhood Natalia Zavodova. "Teens are uncontrollable. Residents are afraid of them," Natalia Zavodova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of the police in connection with the attack on the journalist.
