Unloading dock in Volgograd Region recognized subject to state protection

A historical and cultural examination of the unloading dock (floating jetty), located near the farmstead of Bobry in the Volgograd Region, is over: the building should be placed under state protection.

"According to the document of June 4, received by us from our Regional Ministry of Culture, already now no one has the right to even approach the unloading dock without the consent of the Ministry; the object is subject to state protection," Dmitry Beskrovny, a campaigner for the protection of the unloading dock, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Let us remind you that on April 24 a group of activists launched a campaign demanding to abandon the plans for demolition of the old building, which was on the balance sheet of the Volgograd State Academy of Physical Culture (VSAPC). Activists set up a tent camp nearby and, as they reported, prevented several attempts to demolish the facility.

Dmitry has added that a package of documents will be sent to the Ministry of Culture of Russia, where within a week a conclusion should be made about putting the unloading dock on the list of the sights of cultural heritage.

So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of the officials of the VSAPC regarding the expert opinion about the unloading dock.
